The problem

Most organizations
don't really listen.

The best insights live in stories, context, and follow-ups. But most tools force you into checkboxes and summaries.

Surveys flatten nuance

People become numbers, and you lose the "why" behind outcomes.

Fieldwork doesn't scale

Qualitative research is slow, expensive, and hard to repeat.

Insights arrive too late

By the time analysis is done, the moment to act has passed.

The shift

Listening should
be continuous,
not occasional.

AI agents have real conversations, asking follow-ups, checking in, and preserving nuance at scale.

More trust, less friction

Meet people where they are: WhatsApp and web. No app installs.

Better follow-ups

Agents probe gently, clarify ambiguity, and adapt based on what they hear.

Faster synthesis

Turn conversations into themes, quotes, and reports in hours, not weeks.

Deeply remembers

“Last time, you mentioned supply issues — did that get resolved?” Only works if you were there for both conversations.

Close the loop

Participants know they were heard. They see something changed. That's how you build trust for the next conversation.

How it works

From prompt to report, fast.

Set up once, then keep listening continuously. Clear outputs your team can use.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot.

If you’re planning a pilot, these are the details that usually matter.

Is it ethical to use AI for sensitive conversations?

We believe it can be, when done right. Deeply is built on trauma-informed principles: participants always know they're talking to AI, can skip any topic or leave anytime, and are never pressured. For many people, AI feels safer than talking to a stranger. They share more openly because there's no judgment. The key is transparency, consent, and genuine respect for participant agency.

Do participants know they're talking to AI?

Always. We never pretend to be human. The consent screen clearly states this is an AI-powered conversation. Surprisingly, this often increases honesty. People share things with AI they wouldn't tell a person, especially on sensitive topics like program criticism, personal struggles, or organizational feedback.

How do you handle distress or trauma disclosure?

The AI is trained to recognize distress signals and respond with care, not clinical detachment. It won't push for details on painful topics. It offers to move on or end the conversation. You can configure referral information (hotlines, local resources) that appears when needed. We don't extract trauma for insights. We create space for people to share what they're comfortable sharing.

Is AI as good as a human researcher?

Different, not worse. AI can't read body language or build long-term relationships. But it can be infinitely patient, never judgmental, available 24/7, and consistent across hundreds of conversations. For many research questions, especially ongoing feedback loops, this tradeoff works well. We recommend AI for breadth and continuous listening, humans for deep ethnographic work.

Can we trust the insights for real decisions?

Yes, with the right expectations. We surface direct quotes and themes grounded in what people actually said. You see the evidence, not just summaries. The AI doesn't make things up. It identifies patterns across conversations and lets you drill into the original words. Think of it as organized listening at scale, not a black box that outputs conclusions.

Is this qualitative or quantitative research?

Conversation-first qualitative, with structured outputs. You get rich narratives, direct quotes, and emergent themes, but also completion rates, sentiment patterns, and exportable data for reporting. It's designed for M&E teams who need both stories for donors and structure for analysis.

What channels do you support?

Web and WhatsApp. No app downloads required. Participants click a link or reply to a message. We optimize for low-bandwidth environments. A full conversation uses less data than loading a typical news article.

What languages do you support?

50+ languages out of the box, including many African, South Asian, and Southeast Asian languages. The AI adapts to the participant's language automatically. You can also configure specific language preferences per check-in. For languages with limited AI training data, we recommend testing with native speakers first.

Can participants respond at their own pace?

Yes. Conversations can happen over hours or days. Participants can close their phone, come back later, and pick up where they left off. This is especially important for people with limited time, caregiving responsibilities, or intermittent connectivity.

Where is data stored? Is it secure?

Data is stored in SOC 2 compliant infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We don't sell data or use it to train AI models. Your participants' words belong to your research, not our product development. We can accommodate specific data residency requirements for enterprise deployments.

Can responses be anonymous?

Yes. You control whether to collect identifying information. For truly sensitive topics, we recommend anonymous participation. Even when collecting emails for follow-up, insights can be anonymized before analysis so your team sees themes without identifying individuals.

Are you GDPR compliant?

Yes. We support data subject access requests, right to deletion, and explicit consent flows. Consent language is configurable per check-in. We can provide a Data Processing Agreement for organizations that need one.

How long does it take to set up a check-in?

Most teams launch their first listening session in under an hour. You describe what you want to learn, configure the tone and topics, and share the link. No coding, no complex survey logic, no week-long setup cycles. You can iterate as you learn.

Do we need technical staff to use this?

No. If you can write a Google Doc, you can set up a check-in. The interface is designed for program managers, M&E officers, and listening leads, not developers. We handle the AI, infrastructure, and analysis. You focus on what matters to your work.

How does pricing work?

We're still finalizing pricing, but it will be based on conversation volume, not seats or features. Pilot partners get free access while we refine the product together. Our goal is to be dramatically more affordable than hiring research consultants while delivering comparable depth.

What kind of results can we expect?

Typical completion rates are 60-80%, much higher than traditional surveys. Conversations average 8-12 exchanges, yielding rich qualitative data. Organizations report discovering insights they'd never have found through structured surveys, things people only share when they feel genuinely heard.
